The Town of
Kos |
|
Kos town is an attractive
and lively port with shady tree-lined avenues and lush green
spaces brightened by lilac ,jasmine and hibiscus. The sights
include tow mosques ,a medieval castle and ancient remains ,most
notably the Asklepion ,perhaps Europe's oldest health resort. The
beaches (easily accessible)offer a variety of water sports ,while
boat excursions leave from the harbour for the neighbouring
islands |

HIPPOCRATES
According to legend ,the famous
Greek Physician was bon in Kos around 460 B.C..The father of
western medicine encouraged his followers to observe patient's
symptoms ,rather than attributing all illness to the wrath of the
gods. The Asklepion was built at Kos in his memory. |
